When using a base for semi-permanent polish with apex building:
– Always prep the nail with specific solutions (Nail Prep and Nail Bonder) to maximize adhesion, as these bases are formulated with low acidity.
– For problematic nails, apply a thin clear base layer (e.g., Gum Base or Rubber Base Clear) for extra strength.
– Shape the apex correctly. Immediately after curing, the base remains flexible, so an accurately built apex is essential for maximum durability. Insufficient apex may increase the risk of nail breakage.
– For very thin nails that tend to lift at the edges over time, use a special under refill technique to safely remove excess natural nail at the end of the service.
