When using Timeless Base for gel polish manicures with an apex:
– Always prep the nails with Nail Prep and Nail Bonder; their gentle acidity improves adhesion to the natural nail
– For problematic nails, add a thin layer of clear base for extra strength (for example, Gum Base or Rubber Base Clear)
– Be sure to sculpt a proper apex; after curing, the base remains quite flexible, so proper structure is essential for durability. Skipping this step or applying only a thin layer increases the risk of nail breakage.
– For very thin nails that may lift at the corners over time, finish with a special under refill technique using an appropriate drill bit to refine the natural nail.
