When using Timeless Base for a semi-permanent manicure with an apex:
– Prepping the nails with Nail Prep and Nail Bonder is recommended—these bases have a low acidity, improving adhesion to the nail plate.
– For problematic nails, a thin layer of a clear base like Gum Base or Rubber Base Clear can provide extra strength.
– Properly shape the apex; right after curing, these bases are more flexible. Ensure a strong apex to prevent breakage. If applied only as a thin brush-on layer or with an insufficient apex, there is a higher risk of the nails breaking.
– For thin nails that are prone to lifting at the edges over time, use a special drill bit for the under refill technique to carefully remove any excess natural nail at the finish.
