When using a High Standards base for a semi-permanent manicure with apex:

– Always begin with preparation solutions (Nail Prep and Nail Bonder). These low-acidity bases improve product adhesion to natural nails.
– For problematic nails, increase durability by adding a thin layer of clear base (Gum Base or Rubber Base Clear).
– Make sure to build a proper apex—these bases remain more flexible right after curing, so shaping the apex correctly is essential for lasting strength. Incomplete apex or applying the base only with a brush may result in nail breakage.
– For very thin nails, prone to detachment at the corners over time, finish your manicure by removing the natural nail underneath with a special under refill bit.
